"Running Pudding!" is my final assignment for the iOS Foundation Advanced Course 2021 and competed among the best apps developed in the 2020/21 Foundation courses.
The project was developed in teamwork together with my teammates and programmers Gennaro Frezzetti, Crescenzo De Luca, Luigi Marino, Giuseppe Iacomino, Rita Perna, Veronica Filosa, Antonio Sommella. Within this team, I had the roles of Scrum Master, UX/UI Designer and Artist.

Sedentary population dataW.I.S.E. study report

Taking into analysis the worrying statistics about the decrease in physical activity and the increasingly sedentary behaviours of the majority of the population caused by our modern lifestyle and the many COVID quarantines, we decided to design a solution that may help to promote a more active and healthy lifestyle.
The theoretical basics of our works come directly from The Self Determination Theory by Edward L. Deci and Richard M. Ryan.

Our solution to the problem was a 2D diagonal scroll adventure game for Apple TV and iPhone. The iPhone camera will recognize a set of player movements that will move Pudding, our game character.

Running Pudding app architecture

For my colour palette, I picked a soothing sunset gradient from cardinal purple (#feb37f) to powder pink (#feb37f). These colours were intended to provide a more immersive experience and provide a strong contrast with the game elements in bright yellow (#ffd400)

Game palette

The main idea for our main character design was to create a character that did not have strong human traits or a specific gender that could add some cuteness and fun to the game. We liked the idea of a running pudding escaping from the hungry villagers, which eventually became our game title.

Pudding, the game protagonist

Speaking about the game background, we choose a medieval setting in sunset colours

...and added some medieval peasants characters and threw gardening tools as obstacles for our Pudding :O
